Edna Gibson
April 13, 1922 - October 24, 2011
Slater, Iowa
Edna Mae Gibson, 89, of Madrid, and formerly of Slater, died Oct. 24, 2011 at the Madrid Home. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Slater. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, also at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Edna was born April 13, 1922 in Kellerton, Iowa to Clifford and Bessie (Reynolds) Greenman. She married Woody Gibson in 1938 and helped him on the farm for many years. Edna was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Friendship Club, Junior Lutherans, Kitchen Committee and Funeral Committee. Edna enjoyed canning, baking, sewing and spending time with her family.
Her survivors include her six children, Myrna (Darrell) Harmon, Marcia Millang, Gary (Carol) Gibson, Elaine (Max) Raines, Rich (LuAnn) Gibson, and Mike (Joyce) Gibson; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; her brother, Carlton Greenman; and three sisters-in-law, Lou Greenman, Doris Gibson and Colleen Greenman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall "Woody" Gibson; granddaughter, Roxann Harmon; great grandson, Derek Harmon; and daughter-in-law, Karen Gibson and son-in-law, Donald Millang.
