Virginia Marie Pyle

BORN: March 26, 1930

DIED: March 16, 2012

LOCATION: Ames, Iowa

Virginia Marie Pyle, 81, of Ames died at the Israel Family Hospice House on March 16, 2012.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 19, at Adams Funeral Home, 502 Douglas Avenue, Ames, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, at First United Methodist Church, 516 Kellogg Avenue, Ames, Iowa. Interment will immediately follow at Ames Municipal Cemetary.

Virginia Marie Kepley was born in St. Mary's, Iowa, on March 26, 1930, to George and Mabel Kepley. She grew up in Orient, Iowa, and graduated from Zion High School. Virginia moved to Des Moines and attended AIB. She married Robert D. Pyle on September 3, 1950, and together they raised their three children. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and an active member of the Ames community. She loved spending time with her family, playing cards and BINGO, and was an avid reader. Virginia was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.

Virginia is survived by two sons, Dennis (Amy) Pyle and Doug (Jo Ellen) Pyle; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her daughter, Joyce Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Extraordinary Visions Project at the Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation, 1111 Duff Avenue, Ames, Iowa 50010.
