On Wednesday of last week, Mr. Bishop and Mrs. Bowers and daughter, expected to start on their return trip to California. Less than 24 hours before the arrival of time for them to start, the little girl, Burnas, aged about two years, was taken sick with what proved to be scarlet fever, and died on Saturday morning. On Saturday the body was laid away in our beautiful cemetery, and the mother will be compelled to return to her far western home with only the memory of the bright young life that was once so joyous and dear.

Becaues of the care, anxiety and watchfulness for her child while sick, Mrs. Bowers was also taken down with the same disease, but in a milder form and it is hoped will speedily recover.
