MRS. MICHAEL FOLEY

Mrs. Michael Foley, whose death occurred at her home on Vine street Friday morning, June 4, was born in County Leitrim, Ireland, seventy-five years ago. Her maiden name was Bridget Kelley. At the age of twenty she, with her brother, emigrated to America and settled near Bloomington, Ill. On April 23, 1868, she ws united in marriage to Michael Foley. To them were born eight children, three dying in infancy. The remaining children are Mrs. James Lamb of New Hartford, Mrs. Edward Carmody of Colo, T. J. Foley of Ames, Anna and Margaret at home. These, together withthe aged husband are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Foley was a victim of diabetis for nearly eight years. The last year of her life she was practically an invalid. She had been a resident of Richland township, residing on a farm near Fernald for number of years. About three years ago the family moved to Nevada, which has since been her home. Her funeral was held Monday morning form St. Patrick's church, of which she was a devout member. A solemn requiem mass was offered by her pastor, Rev. Father Nicholls, assisted by Rev. T. R. Collins of Dubuque and Rev. Joseph Campbell of Ames. Interment was in St. Patrick's cemetery. Those form a distance in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. John Ohl and Mrs. Edward Harn of Fairbank, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Iverson, Messrs. John Callahan and Edward Foran of Williams, Mr. and Mrs. J. I. Patten and family of Boone, Mr. and Mrs. Cooper and Mr. and Mrs. John Uthe and Mr. Giles Kennedy, all of Ames and Hugh and Elizabeth Kelley of Colfax, Ill.
