John Braker the last of the week started for Durant, called by the death of his mother at that point.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Johannes "John" and Emma (Eichner) Braker were married in Scott County, Iowa on 1 January 1878 but lived in Colo, Story County, Iowa for some time. His mother, Maria "Mary" (Toll) Braker, is listed in the 1880 Durant, Cedar County, Iowa census living with her daughter, Mina "Minnie" (Braker) Toll. Mina Braker married Christian F. Toll on 30 August 1869 in Scott County, Iowa and it appears her mother always lived with them.

Maria (Toll) Braker is buried in the Durant Cemetery, Durant, Muscatine County, Iowa. Do not be confused by the county references as Durant, Iowa lies in three counties: Cedar, Muscatine, and Scott Counties.
