From Story County Watchman March 9, 1900

The first of the week Dr. Bunce received word of the killing of a nephew in Chicago while coupling cars on the Chicago and Northwestern railway, Chas. Harper. Mr. Harper was about 30 years of age and leaves a wife and children.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Dr. Bunce" was Dr. Densmore Journey Bunce. Charles Harper was actually the nephew of Dr. Bunce's wife, Marinda (Griffith) Bunce. Marinda's sister, Ellenor "Nellie" Griffith, was married to George Harper on 23 March 1870 in Whiteside County, Illinois. Charles Harper was their son.
