From Story County Watchman February 23, 1906

Miss Jeanette Jackson, for several years stenographer for th L. R. Shepherd Publishing Company and local editor of the Maxwell Tribune died suddenly Monday eveneing in Maxwell. Miss Jackson was in her usual good health when she left home that morning to go to her work. On her way to the office she became suddenly faint on the street and fell within a short distance of the office. She was carried to a near by residence and medical aid summoned but in spite of their efforts she expired within a few hours from heart trouble. Miss Jackson's home was at Ottumwa but during the several years she had been in Maxwell she made her home at J. B. Angelos. She was a member of the M. E. Church one faithful to her duties and numbering her friends by her acquaintances.
