Death of Patrick H. Kelley.
Patrick H. Kelley, of 513 South Second street, died at 5:15 Tuesday morning at his home, of heart failure, induced by chronic bronchitis. Mr. Kelley was 72 years of age, and was a native of Ireland. He came in this country as young man, and settled in Ohio. He served thru out the civil war as a member of Company H, Fifth United States regular infantry, and in all saw six years' service. In 1869 he came west to Ames, and for many years was in th employ of the Northwesten as a section hand and foreman. From Ames he came to Nevada where he lived several years, and from here he went to Marshalltown. Mr. Kelley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Belinda Lucy Kelley. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kelley, four daughters and one son, but all are now dead. One grandson, Leo Tretter, survives the deceased. Mr. Kelly was a member of the G. A. R. and was a charter member of the Ames post. He was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Mary's and also of the Total Abstinance Union of St. Mary's church. The funeral arrangements are pending word from friends living at a distance, but the probabilities are the funeral will be conducted from St. Mary's Sunday morning.
