C. R. Evans died at his home in Collins Wednesday night, March 29, after suffering several months with that dreadful disease consumption. Mr. Evans has lived on his farm east of Collins for many years and is well known in that community. He was a good neighbor and a kind father. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife and eight children.

Calvin R. Evans was born in Hancock county, Indiana, October 18, 1851. His parents soon after moved to Bureau couty, Ill., where they remained until he was fourteen years of age, at which time they removed to Story County, Iowa.
