John Hanson, an aged citizen living five miles south of Huxley passed away yesterday afternoon after a short illness.

John Hanson died on Wednesday* after an illness of some duration. The funeral was held at the Palestine church on Friday last conducted by Rev. Shefvland.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to WPA Records, John Hansen was born 1 May 1835 and died 14 September 1904 (a Wednesday) and was buried in the Fjelberg Cemetery, Story County, Iowa.
