One of the strangest cases of suicide ever known in the county has resulted from the death of H. W. Kersten, of State Center, known familiarly by his friends, as "Willie" Kersten, who took his own life by hanging Sunday. Kersten was the only son of William Kersten, a well known and wealthy German farmer, living one mile north of State Center. Young Kersten was found dead in the barn when his parents, who had been absent from home for the day, returned Sundy evening.
