From Story County Watchman August 27, 1903

Word has been received that Dick D. Briggs died at his home in Imperial, Cal., on the 20th, at the age of 46 years. He will be remembered by the greater portion of ourt people as the son of Otis Briggs, Jr., and who went to that far off land because of his health. The remains were interred in that city. He was born in Des Moines and moved to Nevada with his parents when a small boy. He leaves a wife and one child to look forward to the meeting in the future world.
