Saml. Bassout died at his home in Cambridge on Friday last at the age of 75 years. He was for many years the landlord of the Northwestern Hotel at that point when stages were the order and railroads in the dim distance. The funeral came off Sunday afternoon under the superintendance of the local Masonic lodge of which he was a member. The attendance was very large and all did honor to the pioneer of the county.
