On Friday eving one of the older residents of Story county, Mrs. A. Campbell, passed to the reward of the future at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. W. Gossard in Marshalltown. The remains were brought to this city Monday and interred in the cemetery here. She came here when the country was a virtual wild and settled on a farm in Milford township and saw it some from the wild state of the prairie to one blossoming as the rose with a population far beyond what it was possible to dream. Her son Chas. is on the home farm, while James has a good farm in Franklin. Her other children have scattered far away. She stood high in the esteem of her friends all of whom hereabouts turned out to do reverence to her memory as mother and a lady.
