From Story County Watchman August 2, 1901

Roland Record: ....Our people were shocked to Sunday evening at the hearing of the death of Mrs. M. Erickson wife of Martin Erickson and the deceased was born at Lura, Norway 61 years ago. She was married in Norway where she had 2 children Mrs. J. Jondal* of this place and Mr. S. Swanson of Marshalltown.

Roland Record: ....The funeral of Mrs. Marie Erickson was held Wednesday, at Salem's church....

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. J. Jondal" was Mary (Swanson) Jondall who was married to John H. Jondall. I do not know if the deceased was twice married or if her children simply took the last name Swanson.
