When quite young she moved with her parent to Independence, Alleghany county, N. y. In 1838 she was married to David A. She gave her heart to Christ at about the age of 21 years and has since lived a Christian life. The last year of her life was one of weakness and suffering from paralysis, yet she bore her affliction with the meekness, patience and cheerfulness becoming a Christian. She was tenderly nursed and cared for by her granddaughter, Miss Effie Tooker, during her affliction of almost a year, and lately she had seemed so much better that with her husband she left the home of their son R. B. where they had been making their home and went for visit to her niece at Zearing. They had been there a week, when she was taken sick last week Monday, her death following on Wednesday. The funeral was held Friday at the Methodist church in Nevada and was conducted by Rev. Dudley. She was buried in the Nevada cemetery. Her husband and son join in expressing appreciation for kindness shown at the time of their bereavement.
