From Story County Watchman January 18, 1901

On Monday evening last Mrs Ida Ross Boardman, died at the home of her husband Dr. C. D. Boardman, in Des Moines. She was a daughter of T. J. Ross, who for several years was county treasurer of this county and a leading citizen. She was married to Mr. Boardman in 1878, whom she leaves with three children to mourn her loss.

The funeral of Mrs. C. D. Boardman was held from the Boardman residence, State street and Arlington avenue at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. A. B. Marshall, pastor of the Central Presbyterian church of which Mrs. Boardman was a member. The music was under the direction of C. M. Keeler. The pallbearers were Messrs. A. B. Shaw, N. E. Fleming, J. E. Pearsall, Perry Wallace, Sidney A. Foster and S. J. Long. Among the out of town friends and relatives who attended the funeral were Mrs. Pons of Marion, an aunt of Mrs. Boardman; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Boardman and Mr. William Boardman of Nevada; Mrs. Dr. Fairchild of Clinton; Mrs. W. A. Hellsell of Odebolt, and Mrs. Carrie Horton, a sister from Ames. --Des Moines Leader.
