John Nelson died at his residence in Story City on Sunday last. He was born in Sorestad, Norway in 1820, and came to Iowa in 1856 and made his home at this point. He leaves a wife, three sons and three daughters to mourn his loss, while one daughter has gone before to the better land. The last rites were held at the East Church in Roland where the remains were deposited in the cemetery. His sickness was only some six weeks. He was a member of 32nd Iowa Infantry during the war of the rebellion.
