Story City Messenger: ....The unexpected and sudden news of the death of Mrs. L. C. Baldus was received in town last Saturday. She was visiting her relatives near Jewel wehn she was taken down with eresypelas which took suddenly a fatal turn. She was buried at Jewell last Sunday. Mrs. Baldus was an estimable woman esteemed and respected by all who knew her. She leaves a husband and several small children to mourn the loss of a dear wife and mother....
