From Story County Watchman April 29, 1898

On Sunday last Mrs. Mary J. Padgett died at her home in Frindley, Ohio, after a short illness. Mrs. Padgett is a sister of Mrs. O. G. Ashford* and was one of the olden time residents of Nevada and will be kindly remembered by many of our people. She was a lady who stood well with her acquaintances and all will be pained to learn that the end has come at last even though it is the way we all will have to go sooner or later.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "Mrs. O. G. Ashford" is Josephine Lones, wife of Oliver G. Ashford. Mrs. Padgett was the wife of Robert Stuart Ashford. They were the daughters of Theodore and Sarah Lones of Columbiana County, Ohio.
