From Story County Watchman January 28, 1898

On Monday Robert Benfer of Cambridge, was found in the engine room of the elevator of Johnson Bros. with his skull crushed. It is supposed that he was hit by the wheel of the engine with that result. He died about midnight. His age was about 55 years. He leaves a family to mourn his loss.
