From Story County Watchman August 27, 1897

Collins Clipper: ....Mrs. Mary Ann Lamb died at her home in th south-west corner of Collins township last Friday morning, of heart disease. Her death was very sudden. Her husband, Daniel Lamb, had gone to attend the reunion at Cambridge. A messenger was sent after him and he quickly returned, to find his wife beyond the power of earthly aid. The funeral was held Sunday at the M. P. church, Peoria. The officiating ministers were Revs. Smay and Sparks. A large attendance testifies to the esteem in which deceased was held by her neighbors and friends. Her age was 63 years, 3 months and 17 days. She was twice married.*

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Mary Ann Mason first married married Edward Beach in 1850, who died in 1869. She married secondly Daniel Lamb in 1873. Mary Ann was the second of Daniel Lamb's three wives.
