C. H. Allen died on Wednesday morning at his home here and will be buried on Thursday afternoon from the C. P. church, the service being conducted by Rev. Ferguson. The remains will be laid beside a daughter in Peoria cemetery. He was the father of Lyman E. Allen formerly of Nevada, and also a brother-in-law to Walter Neal now or Nevada. He was a good man, a kind neighbor and an upright citizen. Mr. A. and wife were both born in Essex county, N. Y., and were married there in 1852. They came to Iowa in 1854 and settled in Buchanan county, afterwards coming to this neighborhood and then moved into Maxwell, where he died.
