The following from the Marshalltown Times of the 15th, inst., gives the last that has been heard of a former Nevada resident, and one who was well known to everybody residing here. He kept the hotel in various parts of the city and was a marked character in those days:

Chauncey Welton, aged 77, died at the Soldiers' Home this morning at 6 o'clock of apoplexy. The deceased was a veteran of Company K, First New York Cavalry, and was admitted into the Home on April 27 last, having came here from Mapleton. The remains will be shipped to that place for interment to-morrow morning.
