MRS. JANE SHEARER DIES SUN. AFTERNOON
Mrs. Jane Shearer, 81, native of Story county and resident here for most of her life, died Sunday about 5 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ada Peterson, 232 Sherman avenue. She had been ill for some time, and seriously for the past two and a half weeks. Her death was due to stomach trouble.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed Monday.
Mrs. Shearer was born in Story county on a farm near Ames, March 12, 1853, and except for a few years during her early life, has always resided in the county. She has lived in the county for 69 years continuously. Her husband, Robert Shearer, a farmer, died in 1903. She leaves two sons, Cyrenus and Willard, both residing on farms near Ames; three daughters, Mrs. Ada Peterson and Mrs. Alta Hennick of Ames; Mrs. Florence Jarnagin of Kearney, Neb., and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Mary Vogt of Maxwell.
