PIONEER LADY BURIED FRIDAY

Had Been Ailing for Many Weeks with Incurable Throat Trouble

Nancy Ann Bates was born in Williams County Ohio, Sept. 26, 1846, and died at Cambridge, Ia., August 2, 1911 being 64 years 11 months and 6 days old. She was married to John B. Seal at Nevada, Ia., on April 26, 1865. Her home has been in and near Cambridge the greater part of her married life. She was converted early in life and lived a devoted christian life. Surviving her are Ramah Maud Seal, an adopted daughter, three brothers and three sisters as follows, Sylvester Bates of Cambridge, Theron and Cyrenus Bates, Amelia Kaness and Jane Shearer of Ames, Minerva Brown of Collins, all of whom were present but Jane Shearer who is in Oklahoma. The funeral was held Friday from the U. B. church. The services were conducted by Rev. E. F. Clark. Interment was made in the family lot in the local cemetery.
