Mis Isabel Guthrie died on Wednesday 5th after a lingering illness in the 85th year of her age. She was born in Scotland in 1811, and came to this country in 1872, to live with her sisters, Mrs. Wm. Brodie. Mrs. B. died in 1891, Aunt Bell, as we called her, was cared for by a niece Miss Mary Guthrie, who came from Montreal, Can. Aunt Belle was a nice old Scotch lady, and had man friends among our people. The funeral took place on Sabbath afternoon, and was conducted by Rev. Ferguson, after which the interment took place in Iowa Center cemetery. The relatives present were Miss Mary Guthrie, formerly of Montreal, Canada. David Guthrie formerly of Montreal, Canada; David Guthrie of Montreal, who arrived on Saturday, and Mrs. Maggie Cook, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, who arrived on Friday night.
