DIED.--Wednesday night just after midnight Jo. G. Tanner fell down the stairway of the residence of M. Borgen, wher he was boarding, and was so seriously injured that he died Thursday evening just before six o'clock. Mr. Tanner was aged about 67 years. He has been a resident of this city for more than a generation and has repeatedly held offices of trust and profit, and was highly esteemed by his many friends for his genial qualities which were many. His wife died several years ago, and his family consisted of boys and girls, which have married and scattered in all directions. He had completed arrangements and expected to have gone to Kansas in a few days to live with a son, to whom this sudden alteration of plans will be a severe blow. Yesterday word was sent to his children as to his injury and death, and they are expected here to-day. We are not advised just when the funeral will take place, but the I. O. O. F. have charge of the matter and will continue so until the family are heard from and probably through the entire Services.
