From Story County Watchman March 15, 1895

OBITUARY.--Died at his home in this city Monday, March 11, 1895 of typhoid fever, George Albert Greenslitt, age 34 years and 7 days. The deceased was the son of E. G. Greenslitt and wife, and was born at Canton, Fulton county, Illinois, March 5, 1861. He was married at LaPorte, Black Hawk county, Iowa, September 16, 1891 to Miss Mary Allen Trost. He removed to Nevada about a year ago, and died at stated above. He leaves a widow and one child eighteen months old, besides his aged father and mother who also resided with him. He was a young man of modest demeanor but of evident worth. he came to Nevada to engage in business as a baker and confectioner, which business apparently prospered in his hands, and he commanded sincere esteem. His funeral was conducted Wednesday forenoon at the Catholic church by Rev. Cooney, and he was buried in the Catholic cemetery. At the funeral, besides the family and great number of citizens, there were present his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Manville, of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. Greenslitt's father, Peter Trost of LaPorte.

In this connection Mrs. Greenslit, with the parents of Mr. G., extend their sincere thanks to those who have so kindly aided them during the illness and death of husband and son, and trusting that they may not be called upon to suffer a similar affliction, but should it ever occur, then we shall be ready to return the helping hand which has been so kindly tendered.
