DIED: At the reesidence of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Tarman, three miles north-west of the city, on Monday afternoon, Jan. 14, 1895, their only child, little Mearl, born March 20, 1885. The child was well and happy as a lark up to Saturday, of last week, when inflamation, caused by the lodgemeat of a seen in the vermiform appendage of the stomach, set in. An operation was performed, but without avail. The parents are greatly stricken over the loss of their bright little boy. Though they have only been residents of Story county since last spring. There were many evidences of the sympathy of their neighbors. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Hoswell, at the home, assisted by members of the choir. The remains were interred in the city cemetery.
