DIED.--On Saturday morning at 10 a. m., at his residence in Nevada. D. H. Mackey, aged about 48 years, Mr. Mackey ws a native of Pittsburg, Pa. and came to Story county in an early day settling at Johnson's Grove where he made his home until a few months since when he moved to Nevada and soon after entered into business with Mr. Burroughs. He served in the lat war in the 8th Iowa Infantry going out in a company from Story county. At the close of the war he returned to Story county and married Miss C. Smay who is left with a family of six children to mourn his untimely loss. The funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church Rev. Shrader officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Nevada cemetery to await the resserrection morn.
