From Story County Watchman April 1, 1892

Mrs. Dawson, wife of Rev. Dawson died on Thursday last and on Saturday was buried at Collins.

In the same paper:

DIED.--At the home of J. Watkins, five miles south-east of Ames, Iowa, Mrs. Dawson, wife of Rev. W. G. Dawson* of the U. B. Church of Nevada.

Eliza L. Evans*, was born May 23d, 1862, died March 24th, 1892, age 29 years 9 months 1 day. Was married to Rev. W. G. Dawson,* December 10th, 1883. The funeral was preached in the M. E. Church at Collins, Iowa, by Rev. B. Clark, of Ames. Mrs. Dawson was taken sick with the la grippe and endured seven long weeks of suffering. Often being asked if she found it sweet to trust in Jesus, she replied: "It is so good to trust Him." A husband and four children besides hosts of friends and relatives are left to mourn her departure. May the comforter of all trusting, comfort them in this their hour of grief.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to her grave stone and her marriage record, Mrs. Dawson was Elvira L. Dawson, not Eliza. She was the wife of Rev. William Thomas Dawson, not W. G. Dawson.
