From Story County Watchman June 20, 1890

A sad accident occured near Jewell last Tuesday, resuling in the death of Thomas Hanson, the 14 years old son of Ole Hanson. Thomas and his brother Andre were playing near a corn crib, when the bin burst and buried both boys beneath the falling corn. When they were extricated Andre was but little hurt, but Thomas was dead.
