On Thursday evening last Girtie, the six year old daughter of John L. Davis, who formerly lived in this township, but now of Glidden died suddenly. It appears she was playing with some glass beads when she in some way got one into her throat resulting in strangulation, and before assistance could be given she breathed her last. She was a child of much promise and the family have the sympathy of all in this their hour of affliction. The family of W. V. Smith, near Iowa Center, the parents of Mrs. D., attended the funeral at Glidden, returning home Tuesday.
