From Story County Watchman December 2, 1887

Nellie Sowers, daughter of Mr. T. J. Sowers died at his residence in Warren township on Wednesday of last week aged nine years. The disease is reported as diphtheria. The sympathy of the entire community of the entire community is extended to the family.
