From Story County Watchman February 26, 1886

DIED.--On Tuesday evening, Michael Dougherty, aged 60 years. He has been sick for a long time but has not been confined to his room until quite recently. He was a member of the G. A. R. Ferguson Post of this place under whose direction the funeral was conducted. The order took the remains to Iowa Center yesterday. The funeral services were held at the Court House yesterday, the discourse being preached by Rev. Payne. He leaves four children, three of them being single, and the other being married to Mr. D. E. McKim.

IN MEMORIAM--J. D. Ferguson Post G. A. R. March 16th, 1886: Whereas it has pleased the Supreme Commander to order from this earthly Camp our Comrade Michael Dougherty, and

Whereas, The Post has lost a faithful member tried and true, and the community an upright and worthy citizen, therefore,

Resolved, That we hereby extend to the bereaved children and friends of our dead comrade our heartfelt sorrow and most kindly sympathy.

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be presented to the Nevada WATCHMAN and Representative for publication.
