From Story County Watchman Feburary 26, 1886

DIED.--Mrs. Hoffman* died on Sun- Feb. 21st, at the residence of her son in Grant township. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was a faithful and earnest Christian. The funeral was conducted on Tuesday at the M. E. church in Nevada, by Rev. A. T. Jeffrey. A large number of friends and relatives were present. Mrs. Hoffman* was firm in her Christian faith even till the last and died in holy triumph at nearly 70 years of age.

*SUBMITTERS NOTE: This should be "Huffman," not Hoffman. The son referred to is Peter A. Huffman of Shipley (Grant Township) in Story County and in the 1885 census, Mrs. Huffman is living with her daughter, Catherine Ann Huffman Shugart, in Nevada, Iowa.
