From Story County Watchman May 9, 1884
DIED.--April 30th, 1884, at her home in Story county, Iowa, Mrs. Jennie Gaught, aged 42 years, 3 months and 5 days.
Again death has crept into our midst as a thief in the night, and robbed us of a devoted christian and a useful neighbor. Sister Gaught professed religion 17 years ago and united with the Methodist church of this county, where she lived a consistent christian life in March, 1883, she with her husband united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church of this county where she continued her labors for the Master, until the angel of death came and called her from earth to join the church in heaven. The funeral services were conducted at the C. P. church by the writer.
"Farewell much loved departed one,
Go take thy mansion near the throne,
And we shall wait the happy hour,
When we shall meet to part no more."
A. K. BONE.We feel grateful to our many friends who assisted us in on hour of sorrow and affliction, and may the blessings of him who alone can bless, rest upon them all.
WILLIAM GAUGHT.
