The wife of D. D. Chase, formerly District judge, of this district died at her residence in Webster City, on the 7th day of May of cancer. She was one of the oldest residents of the county having settled there near 25 years ago. Personally she was a lady of culture and worthy the respect and esteem, which she held for years. Much of the success of the judge may be traced directly to her influence, and he will miss her mild and winning manner. We tender to the judge his son, and other relatives, the sincerest sorrow for the bereavement which has befallen them.
