The death of our esteemed citizen, John D. Breezley last Saturday at 10:30 p.m. cast a gloom over our citizens. Mr. Breezley had been a resident of Iowa for 28 years and was well known by nearly every person in the county, and highly esteemed by all for his honesty and integrity. A man of strong will and deep convictions not to be moved by threats, flattery of --cial arguments. He was in the full sense of the word a temperate man and a christian, which he verified by his every day walk and conversation. A very large concourse of people followed his earthly remains to its resting place on Sunday afternoon. The members of the A. O. U. W. lodge of this place and several members of the Nevada Lodge conducted the funeral services according to the custom of the order of which Mr. Breezley was a member. He died in his 49th year of blood poisoning caused by impaction of the gall duct with billary calculi thereby forcing vitiated bile through his whole system. He was taken sick on Tuesday and suffered terrible agony most of the time for four days and three nights. He leaves a wife and seven children, four boys and three girls, and an aged step mother to mourn his irreparable loss.
