DIED.--On Sunday morning last after a short illness, Mrs. Eunice Newman, aged 70 years. Mrs. Newman was the mother of Mrs. R. J. Silliman*, whom she was visiting at the time. Sunday night the remains were taken to Genesee, Ill., for interment.

*Submitter's note: Eunice Griswold Newman was the step-mother of Lucy Newman Silliman. Mahala Seymour Newman, Lucy's mother, died in 1864 and Lucy's father, Alfred Newman, remarried Eunice Griswold later that same year.
