Ruth Marie Thogerson, 92, of Huxley, died November 6, 2010 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 26 at Stevens Memorial Chapel, 607 28th St., Ames. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church, 209 N. 2nd Ave., Huxley. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Fjeldberg Church.

Born February 1, 1918 in Cedar Falls to Albert and Petrea Matson, Ruth graduated from Iowa State Teacher’s College. She married Rev. Dolliver D. Thogerson June 30, 1938. Together they served Lutheran congregations in Edmore, MI; Cushing, WI; Falmouth, ME; Derwood, MD; West Branch, West Burlington, rural Decorah, and Huxley.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Dick Matson; and daughter, Dorothy Hansen. She is survived by sons, David (Carolyn) of Ames, Paul (Sheryl) of Davis, IL, and Mark of Muskegon, MI; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
