From Story County Watchman May 13, 1881

On the 3d day of May, Mark B. Saunders, formerly of this place was injured by the breaking of a bridge near Dallas, Texas, and died within a few hours. The body reached here on Monday night and was buried in the Cemetery on Tuesday. He is a brother of Mrs. A. Goodin, Mrs. Ayers, and Mrs. Tichenor of this place and leaves a wife and children. We understand that his family will remove to this place soon and make it their future home.

We extend the sympathy of all to the afflicted ones in this their sudden bereavement.
