OBITUARY - Mrs. Nettie Briggs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Briggs, and wife of O. L. Dunkelbarger, at the age of thirty-three years, passed from her home in Nevada last Thursday evening. Her always frail health had for some months rapidly declined and for several days before the last change came her life had hovered between two worlds. As the mortal hold loosened, the always gentle, sincere spirit gathered its treasures-- memories of all the loving kindnesses of kindred and childhood and womanhood friends that had brightened her life, gratitude to them severally wide embracing, love and hope and faith,-- and in the "peace that passeth understanding" crossed to the hereafter. Sunday afternoon the remains were gently borne by her brothers and cousins to the Methodist church, where friends had crowded for memorial rites. The pastor Rev. J. R. Horswell, invoked devine blessing; Rev. Leon Harvey of Des Moines spoke words of comfort and recalled proof of Immortality; voices joined in the hymns, "It is not death to me," "Nearer my God to thee," and "There is a land that is fairer than day." When the long procession slowly wound its way to the Silent City, and the hands of kindred tenderly yielded mortality to the embrace of Mother Earth.
