Minnie Maxwell, 102, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, October 10, 2010. Services were held this week in Washington.

Minnie was born in Collins, Iowa, the seventh of nine children, to John B. and Minnie Shearer Kimberley. She graduated from Maxwell High School, and the Iowa State Teachers’ College. She was a teacher and homemaker, who also worked at Twin Anchors Campground in Colo, during the 1970’s, for her brother, Harold Kimberley. She was active with community boards and activities, and volunteered until she was 100 years old. She was known for her sense of humor, wit, and youthful outlook on life.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Polly Maxwell Barker, grandsons Alan (Ritchie), and Eric Maxwell, and five great granddaughters, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, son, Dick, parents and her siblings.
