OBITUARY OF MRS. CHRISTOPHER

Well Known Pioneer Daughter of Story County

Special to the Journal.

Cambridge, Jan. 23 - In the death of Mrs. Helen Tesdahl Christopher, at her home near Dexter Janury 18, 1925 there passed away one of the real pioneer daughters of southwest Story county. Funeral services were conducted at the Palestine church, near here and interment was in the Palestine cemetery.

Helen Tesdahl was born on the old Tesdahl homestead a mile and a half southwest of Cambridge in Union township, June 25, 1865 and departed this life at Dexter, Iowa, January 18, 1925, aged 59 years, 7 months and 2 days.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Palestine church and was raised to young womanhood in the community. She was united in marriage to Ole C. Christopher Feb. 23, 1886. Nine children were born to this union all of them with the husband are living, Mrs. W. I. Sutton and Fred R. of Flogler, Colo., Luie M. of Cozad, Neb., Mrs. Harry Flinn of Union Springs, New York, Mrs. C. A. Hagberg of Boone, Mrs. G. W. Johnson, Cambridge, Burnis R., Leroy G. E., and Ruby E. B. of Dexter. Three brothers, Oliver of Huxley, Lars and Andrew of Cambridge, four sisters, Mrs. Carrie T. Nelson and Mrs. E. G. Rayness of Ames, Mrs. A. H. Sheldahl of Huxley, Mrs. Carl Volden of Pearly, Minn. Also 18 grand children to share a common sorrow with the family.

Death was due to appoplexy and was sick only one hour.

She is at rest with her Savior was a good christian, spoke ill of no one. A loving, faithful wife and mother loved by all who knew her. She leaves a host of friends besides her relatives to mourn her loss. God bless her memory.
