OBITUARY

Death of Old Milford Resident

Mrs. Geo. H. Alfred, sone of the pioneers of Milford died Monday on the farm which had been her home for nearly a half century and her funeral was held Wednesday where she had lived. Rev. Walter I. Fowls of Ames conducting the service, and interment being in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. There was housefull of old friends and neighbors some of whom recalled the long-ago scrimped conditions of the new settlement which made the kindliness of the deceased and her helpfulness in times of sickness matters of special gratitude. Mr. Alfred passed away about six years ago. Three daughters and two sons survive, namely: Mrs. Willie Ball, south of Ames; Mrs. Arthur McCoy of Ames; Will Alfred of Oklahoma; Charles and Lucy both unmarried on the home farm; and Tilton, a step-son in Plymouth county. Al lof these were present at the funeral excepting the son in Oklahoma. Mrs. Alfred was Nancy Arrasmith, a sister of William, Dudley and Wesley; her age was about seventy-five and her religious convictions were with the Baptists.
