MRS. HEMSTOCK DIED THURSDAY

FUNERAL WILL BE HELD FROM METHODIST CHURCH MONDAY AT 2:30 P. M.

Mrs. Geo. H. Hemstock, 80, died at her home on Seventh street Thursday morning at ten o'clock and the funeral will be held from the Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2:30. Dr. C. N. Swihart of Memorial Lutheran church preaching the sermon. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband, who passed away in July of 1923.

Mrs. Hemstock had not been strong for a number of years but was able to make a trip to California to visit with her sons early in the fall and returned home in her usual health. It was about two weeks ago that she was taken ill and since that time pneumonia developed and finally claimed her life.

Mrs. Hemstock was one of the real pioneers of the county and had a wide circle of friends in Nevada, Grant township and other parts of the county. She leaves three children and a number of grandchildren. The one daughter, Mrs. Sadie Abbott lives near this city, while the two sons have been living in California for some time, John A. at San Diego and George at New Paris.

Mrs. Hemstock lived with her family in Grant township for many years and was one of the few older people who were living there at the time of the fatal cyclone of 81 which worked destruction in that part of the county.

Note of submitter: Mrs. Hemstock was married to George W. Hemstock, not Geo. H. Hemstock as stated.
