Death of H. E. Boston
Hugh Emery Boston, long a well and most favorably known resident of Warrent township and of the town of McCallsburg, died on January 8 at a hospital in Omaha and his funeral followed about two days later in at McCallsburg. The deceased was a son of John A. Boston now of David City, Nebraska, and he was born at Round Grove, Whiteside county, Illinois March 17, 1866 being at the time of his death aged 44 years, 9 months and 21 days. He removed with his parents to Warren township in September 1868, the family being one of the first four or five families in the township. He grew up there and after McCallsburg became a town he lived there, serving in late years as city marshall and clerk. His health broke down a few months ago, and as the last chance to help him he was taken to the hospital at Omaha, where in spite of all efforts the end came as stated.
Mr. Boston was a man of musch personal worth, and his death in middle age will be very greatly regretted. He leaves a wife, who was Miss Patience Hendrickson, and six children, besides his venerable father, four brothers and two sisters. His funeral was conducted by Rev. Stauffacher of Zearing from the Presbyterian church at McCallsburg.
