THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, October 6, 2010.

Jeffrey Jarnagin Bowers, 30, of Nevada, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th St., in Nevada. Burial will be in Murphy Cemetery in rural Nevada.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, in the chapel of the church.

A memorial fund has been established for his son, Kyson.

Jeffrey Jarnagin Bowers, 30, of Nevada, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010. Memorial services were held at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial was held in the Murphy Cemetery in rural Nevada on Oct. 10.

Jeffrey was born April 25, 1980, in Ames. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1999, and also graduated from DMACC with a general studies degree. On July 30, 2004, he married Kylie Kingsbury in West Des Moines. He was employed at Bethany Manor in Story City. He enjoyed playing video games, being outdoors and remodeling homes.

Survivors include his wife, Kylie Bowers; their son, Kyson; parents Patricia and Hal Long, of Nevada, and Mark Bowers and Diane Johnson, of Ames; brothers, Ben (Molly) Long and their children Nick, Maria and Anna, of Urbandale, and Ryan (Jenny) Bowers and their children, Shannon and Alexa, of Waukee; sister, Corey Bowers; stepmother Diane Denison Bowers, of Woodinville, Wa.; grandmothers, Bonnie Kingsbury, of Boone, and Pauline Breer, of Colo; parents-in-law, Ron and Jean Kingsbury, of Nevada, and Margo and Norm Wibholm, of State Center; brothers- and sisters-in-law Tadd (Anna) Kingsbury and their children Aiden, Anika and Xavier, of Colo, Erin (Justin) Silence, of Rhodes, Travis Wibholm, of Melbourne and Alexander Ackerman, of Ankeny.

Jeffrey is lovingly remembered by many friends, co-workers and classmates.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Galyn and Erma Ruth Wilson in 2001, Henry Eugene Bowers in 1971, Irene Miskell Bowers in 2008, Wilbert “Red” Breer in 2001 and Carroll Kingsbury.

A memorial has been established for his son, Kyson.

Chet Ryan Mortuary was entrusted with the care of Jeffrey and his family.
